Both people in a small, single-engine plane survived an emergency landing in which the craft lost engine power and came to rest upside down in a remote area northeast of Strasburg on Thursday night.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office released a photo of the plane sitting on its roof in what appears to be a field. The pilot landed about 8:45 p.m. near 36th Avenue and Headlight Road, about 15 miles from Front Range Airport.
“During the emergency landing, the aircraft flipped for reasons yet to be determined and came to a final rest on its top in a field near the intersection,” the office said. “The aircraft also hit power lines in the area, causing some localized power outages.”
For precautionary reasons, the pilot and his passenger were transported by ambulance to a hospital, the office said.
