The Klikus fire in southern Colorado is now 100 percent contained as of Thursday evening at 42 acres, Huerfano Emergency Dispatch said in a Twitter update.

The fire, about five miles west of La Veta, required 35 firefighters from LaVeta Fire Department, Juniper Valley Type II team, Pinion Canyon, and an engine from The Colorado Division of Fire Protection and Control.

No structures have been damaged and no injuries have been reported.

Fire restrictions were implemented Thursday in Huerfano County, which is under a red flag fire warning. It includes no open burning, discharging or using any type of fireworks or pyrotechnic device on public or private land. Cigarette smoking outdoors is also restricted.

The fire is burning in the Middlecreek area, south of Huerfano County Road 440 and west of County Road 450.

The fire area stands a 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2p.m., according to the National Weather Service. The high temperature should climb to about 87 degrees, under mostly sunny skies, and winds will be out of the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.
