Two men suspected of defacing a memorial for fallen police officers in Denver have been charged formally with a felony in the case.
Robert Guerrero, 25, and Matthew Goldberg, 23, both face a felony criminal mischief charge, as well as misdemeanor charges, according to the Denver district attorney’s office. They face misdemeanors of defacing public property, desecration of a venerated object and resisting arrest.
Guerrero and Goldberg allegedly poured red paint on the Denver Police Department Fallen Officer Memorial, which is outside the downtown police headquarters, on Feb. 14 during a protest.
Both defendants are free on a $5,000 bail and are scheduled to appear in Denver County Court on Monday.
