Firefighters are battling a wildfire in Park County three miles southeast of Kenosha Pass Overlook in the Pike National Forest, according to news release from the U.S. Forest Service. The forest service is calling it the Snyder Creek 2 fire.

The fire was first reported about 4 p.m. Sunday. As of 9 p.m. Sunday, the fire was estimated at 250 acres and was 10 percent contained.

The forest service anticipates having the fire contained by 6 p.m. Monday, the release said.

The fire was caused by someone shooting a firearm, the forest service said.

The service is asking people to stay away from the area due to emergency vehicle traffic and smoke.

The National Weather Service issued a fire danger warning for most of Colorado Sunday due to high winds and dry air.
