The family of an Arapahoe County Sheriff’s deputy who was critically injured in a traffic crash released a statement Friday thanking the community for support.

Deputy Bill Foreman Jr., 55, was heading to a homicide scene about 6 a.m. Wednesday when the crash happened near the intersection of East Iliff Avenue and South Valentia Street.

“We want to thank the community for their continued support for Bill, and for us as Bill continues his recovery,” the family statement, released by the sheriff’s office, said. “While we remain at Bill’s side hopeful for continued positive changes in his condition, we are comforted by the thoughts and prayers from the community.”

Foreman remains in the hospital in critical condition.

“We are so thankful for the talented team of medical professionals who are giving their all, in the ongoing effort to save Bill’s life,” his family said. “We are, at the same time, overwhelmed and grateful.”

Bonfils Blood Center has set up an “Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office Replenishment Blood Drive.”
