Associate Justice Antonin Scalia has died while on a hunting trip to Texas.

The news was first reported by the San Antonio Express-News and was comfirmed on the U.S. Supreme Court’s official Twitter account.

Scalia was 79 years old. He was appointed to the Supreme Court in 1986 by President Ronald Reagan.

According to the San Antonio newspaper, the conservative justice was vacationing at a hunting resort. He did not come down for breakfast on Saturday and was found dead in his room of natural causes.

The office of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott released a statement mourning Scalia.
