Tuesday. You know Denver is in a building crisis when a preservation group holds public workshops on new design. That’s exactly what Historic Denver has been doing, boldly throwing itself in the middle of the debate over what should get built here, how it might look and where it fits in with the past. “It’s important to be talking about design issues, quality of place and the kind of city we want to be 50 years from now,” says executive director Annie Robb Levinsky. Next up, “Finding the Forms,” an interactive workshop where planners and designers will help folks understand what makes sense. The goal is to go beyond broad descriptions of pretty and ugly and come up with forms that honor context while pushing innovation. 7 p.m. Tuesday, L2 Church, 1477 Columbine St. Free. 303-534-5288 or historicdenver.org.
