Heavy rain moved into parts of the Front Range on Thursday afternoon, causing some street flooding in Longmont and flash flood warnings further south.

Mutiple flash flood warnings were issued in El Paso County and some streets flooded in northern Colorado Springs, but all warnings had been lifted by early evening.

Heavy rain also fell in Longmont and parts of Larimer County. About an inch of rain fell in an hour near Longmont before the storm moved on toward Weld County. Some intersections and parking lots were flooded in Longmont. Areas affected included Emory and Collier and Lanyon Park, the Times-Call reported.

Earlier, the National Weather Service forecast that stormy weather should spill off the mountains and onto the eastern plains Thursday afternoon, bringing heavy rains, hail and strong winds to some areas of northeastern Colorado.

Friday in Denver there’s a 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m., the weather service said. Skies should be mostly sunny and the high temperature should hit 89 degrees.
