Rockies owner Dick Monfort on Friday apologized for e-mails he sent to fans, some that told them not to come to games and another that suggested he would move the team to another city.

One of the fans who received an e-mail from Monfort was Mike Ferguson of Grand Junction, who attended the team’s 9-0 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers on July 4. After the game, Ferguson left a disapproving comment in a feedback form after the game. He later received an e-mail from Monfort saying, “If product and experience that bad don’t come!”

Another fan reported receiving an e-mail from Monfort that said, “By the way you talk maybe Denver doesn’t deserve a franchise, maybe time for it to find a new home. Thanks.”

Monfort later e-mailed an apology to Ferguson. And then on Friday he made a public apology to all fans in an e-mailed statement from the team.

However, fans, already frustrated with the Rockies’ record over the past several seasons, may not be quick to forgive.
