Three mailboxes in Larimer County were blown apart by homemade explosive devices this past weekend, the sheriff’s office said.

The three incidents happened overnight Saturday into Sunday, according to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.

In at least one instance the explosive device was made up of firecrackers wrapped in duct tape.

The mailboxes vandalized were in unincorporated Larimer County: in the 8500 block of South County Road 13; the 5600 block of Squires Place; and the 900 block of North County Road 5.

It appears the explosions happened shortly after devices were placed in mailboxes and there’s no indication the incidents are intended as “booby traps,” the sheriff’s office said.

No one has been injured.

Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 970 416-1985 or Crime Stoppers at 970 221-6868.
