Interview with Ryan Sharr, owner
Q: How did you get involved in this business?
A: It was either this or a bar. My brother and I were tired of wearing suits so we put on the apron and got to work. My ma taught us that with a little bit more love, you can make an ordinary meal into something that people can’t put down, and it started with the sauce and made itself into a pizza.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
A: We’re neighborhood boys that got tired of eating cardboard and knew that it wasn’t about increasing margins and finding ingredients that would make the cut, but the other way around. And the only way to do that is is let the neighborhood make their own pizza.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
A: Meeting new people and getting our next pizza ideas from our customers. Working in Parker has done just that — not only have we made our customers our friends, but many have put their ideas on our menu, like the “Parker.”
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
A: Ever changing prices in ingredients. It’s tough to know what cheese prices will be next week, and being so small, all our ingredients are susceptible to the market.
Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
A: Coloradough Pizza was originally going to be a donut shop, Coloradoughnuts, but our love for pizza persevered.
