Saturday. For its 18th year, the Rocky Mountain PBS Fun Fest is doing what public television does best: offering free, tasty entertainment with plenty of substance and nutritional value. The block party, which attracts thousands to the parking lot at 1089 Bannock St. in the Golden Triangle neighborhood, will feature familiar TV buddies like Curious George, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Word Girl and Sid the Science Kid, but also healthy snacks, jump rope, tennis and dancing activities. Karate demonstrations … and the Colorado Mestizo Dancers? It has those, too. Organizers are asking that attendees bring a “gently used” children’s book to donate to the Reach Out & Read program. The event takes place 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 6. Visit rmpbs.org/funfest for more information.
