Denver Fire is investigating a partial building collapse near West 11th Avenue and Kalamath Street.

Fire officials said they received a 911 call Wednesday afternoon alerting them to the situation at the single-family home. Photographs from the scene showed that the side of the home collapsed.

One of the home’s renters, Chancey Bush, said there was a crack in the structure, “that slowly gotten worse and worse and worse…it was like a ticking time bomb,” she said.

“We’d asked the landlord to come and look at it…there have been animal feces falling from the ceiling and squirrels live in there.”

Bush said she was not home at the time of the collapse; no injuries were reported.
