Loveland Ski Area is set to open on Saturday, becoming the second Colorado resort to start allowing skiers and riders enjoy its slopes this season.

“The announcement everyone’s been waiting for!” Loveland said in reporting their opening day on Wednesday.

First chair up the mountain will be at 8:30 a.m.

Low snowfall and warm temperatures led Copper Mountain and Keystone Resort to announce this week they were pushing back their opening dates.

Arapahoe Basin was the first ski area to open in North America this season on Oct. 17.
