A tech startup that offers on-demand home alcohol delivery via a smartphone app launched service in Denver on Wednesday.

Drizly, based in Boston, has partnered with Argonaut Liquor for the service.

Consumers who order through Drizly’s smartphone app have access to the same in-store prices on beer, wine and liquor, and pay a $5 delivery charge, which does not include tip.

The minimum order is $20. Drizly says the booze should arrive on doorsteps within 20 to 40 minutes.

Argonaut co-owner Ron Vaughn said more than 3,000 products will be available for purchase through the app, which can be downloaded in the iTunes and Google Play stores.

The launch covers a number of Denver neighborhoods, including downtown, Cherry Creek, Five Points and others.

“Consumers are demanding convenience in every area of their life, and the smartphones we carry have become the tool of choice to deliver that convenience,” Drizly CEO Nick Rellas said.

Denver is the company’s fifth market. The service is also available in Boston, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.

Drizly has expanded to the suburbs in other markets. A spokeswoman said such an expansion is based on consumer demand and availability of retail partners.
