Vestas Wind Systems said Tuesday that it had received an order for 166 megawatts of wind turbines from RES Americas Inc. for a Minnesota wind farm.

That was the third order the Aarhus, Denmark-based company has announced in the last eight days the two other orders totaled 524 megawatts for projects in New Mexico, Kansas and North Dakota.

Vestas operates four factories in Colorado producing blades, towers, turbines and their casings.

The turbines order announced Tuesday will be used at the Pleasant Valley Wind Project, which will supply electricity to Xcel Energy’s Minnesota subsidiary.
