The Colorado Courage Run 5K, Denver’s only run supporting Parkinson’s disease research, begins at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cheesman Park.

Children, strollers, dogs and friends are invited to race, jog or walk the course. Registration, which is $30, can be done at coloradocouragerun.com or at the event.

The fee includes a T-shirt, lunch and access to the post-race beer garden for those of age. All proceeds will be donated to the Parkinson’s Association of the Rockies.

This annual family-friendly event, which is in its second year, was founded by two siblings whose father was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2009.
