Frontier Airlines is starting new nonstop service between Denver and West Palm Beach, Fla., opening up a new market for the carrier.
Denver-based Frontier announced Wednesday the new flight option in a bundle of 10 new routes around the country. This marks the fifth nonstop Florida destination for its hometown.
Year-round service to Palm Beach begins Oct. 26. Frontier already flies into Fort Lauderdale, Fla., which is about 50 miles away. And while Palm Springs International Airport is relatively small, it has a significant number of airlines, including many low-cost carriers.
But the other new routes announced on Wednesday further solidify Frontier’s broadening focus on certain airports outside of Denver, like Washington-Dulles, Chicago-O’Hare and Trenton, N.J.
“We are excited to continue to expand our brand of low-fare service,” said Daniel Shurz, Frontier’s senior vice president of commercial, in a news release.
When Frontier announced in May that it was opening service at Washington-Dulles airport, it did so boldly with 14 routes right out of the gate. The carrier added Palm Beach and Cancun to the list on Wednesday.
Frontier also added Orlando as a destination from Chicago-O’Hare less than a month after announcing it would begin service at Chicago’s busiest airport.
The carrier is continuing to beef up its presence at Trenton-Mercer Airport in New Jersey with a nonstop to Palm Beach.
St. Louis, Milwaukee and Atlanta will also see new routes.
Frontier now serves 85 destinations in the U.S., Mexico, Costa Rica, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic.
