Sierra Trading Post is opening a retail location in Greenwood Village, the first store in Colorado and the fifth overall.

The new will open Thursday, Aug. 28 at the Cherry Hills Marketplace, 5910 S. University Blvd., the company said in a news release.

For the grand opening at 8 a.m., the first 100 shoppers will receive gifts cards worth from $25 to $500. In addition, the first 200 shoppers will receive a free tote bag and an extra 10 percent off.

Regular store hours will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Cherry Hills Marketplace is at the intersection of University Boulevard and Orchard Road. Trader Joe’s opened in the shopping center in February. TJ Maxx and HomeGoods, which are owned by the parent company of Sierra Trading Post, also have outlets there.

Sierra Trading Post has its headquarters in Cheyenne and stores in Cheyenne; Boise, Ida.; Reno, Nev.; Cody, Wyo. A store is also planned in Fort Collins.

The company calls itself “a leading off-price Internet retailer.”

“Sierra Trading Post has offered customers savings of up to 70% since 1986 on outdoor gear, shoes, clothing, accessories and home furnishings,” the company said in a news release.
