Vandals slashed dozens of vehicle tires overnight in southern Jefferson County, according to the sheriff’s office.

The incident happened in the 00 to 99 block of South Holman Way, officials said.

About 24 vehicles had tires — all on the passenger side, front and back — slashed, said Mark Techmeyer, a sheriff’s spokesman.

The vandal, or vandals, methodically walked up one side of the block on the sidewalk slashing tires with a sharp, strong instrument, perhaps a hunting knife, Techmeyer said.

The vandal then crossed the street and carried out the same act on the other side of the block.

Most residents found the damage Friday morning as they left their homes to drive to work, Techmeyer said.

The same area was hit, the same way, on July 23.

Anyone with information on the incidents, or on possible suspects, is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 303-277-5612.
