Arapahoe County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a 54-year-old transient who is suspected in the shooting death of a man found in a Walmart parking lot on Monday.
Deputies arrested Daniel Fougner, who is accused of first-degree murder in the death of the 61-year-old victim.
Sheriff’s deputies found the victim, who is not being identified due to the ongoing investigation, after someone reported shots fired and a victim lying on the ground in the lot at 1412 South Parker Rd., at 8:44 p.m., according to a release.
“When deputies arrived they located a 61-year-old male victim in the parking lot suffering from what appeared to be several gunshot wounds,” according to the release.
The Cunningham Fire Protection District transported the victim to the Medical Center of Aurora, where he was pronounced dead.
