The weather pattern as we head into the month of December will feature a storm track from the southern Rockies to the Great Lakes.

This will bring snow possibilities during the first half of the month, and it should make for some good early-season skiing at Colorado’s ski resorts.

There may be a couple of brief visits of arctic air the first half of the month as well, and the temperatures should average lower than normal.

So, overall, the first two weeks of the month should wind up being rather wintry around the central Rockies region.

Although our confidence is not quite as high for the last half of the month, we feel that a reversal in the pattern will take place around mid-December.

This pattern reversal will make for less storminess as well as a lack of arctic air intrusions.

In fact, temperatures for the last half of the month may actually average above the normal levels, which for Denver is a high of 42 and a low of 17.
