Interview with Dara Thach, owner

Q: How did you get involved in this business?

A: Because of our passion and love to give. We donate 10 percent of our proceeds to charity.

Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?

A: Again, because we regularly donate to charity. Also, we provide a safe environment for the community to study, talk, work and socialize.

Q: What do you like best about your line of work?

A: Meeting the wonderful people living in this area. I’m very grateful to be part of this community.

Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?

A: Being new to this area. And getting customers to try new things.

Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:

A: The Coffee Social is family- operated and locally owned. The best gift in life is giving. I want to provide a safe, social hangout for the community. This is my side business — I actually have a janitorial business that requires me to work 365 days of the year.
