A former emergency room nurse at North Suburban Medical Center in Adams County was sentenced to 12 years in prison Tuesday for attempted unlawful sexual contact with a patient after fondling a heavily sedated woman.

Thomas Mark Moore, 45, also sexually assaulted five patients in Weld County, according to a news release by Sue Lindsay, spokeswoman for Adams County District Attorney Dave Young.

Moore fondled a woman who went to the medical center with a severe migraine headache on Nov. 8, 2015. She was heavily sedated at the time.

The Adams County sentence will run at the same time as the 12‐year sentence Moore received for similar crimes in Weld County.

“This conduct is completely aberrant and should never have occurred,” Adams County District Judge Robert Kiesnowski, Jr., said at the sentencing hearing.

Senior Deputy District Attorney Chris Rossi said that Moore targeted victims who were sedated and unable to react.

“He used his position as an ER nurse and took advantage of these vulnerable victims,” he said.
