While Denver remains mostly dry, there’s a good chance for new powder in the high country to the delight of skiers and snowboarders.
Between 4 and 8 inches of snow will fall in the foothills and mountains Saturday, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
Even Denver could get some rain and snow flurries late Saturday into early Sunday, according to the weather service. Unusually mild temperatures will give way to rain and then snow as a new cold front enters Colorado.

The highs on Friday and Saturday with be in the mid-50s before the storm reaches Denver late Saturday night bringing with a 20 percent chance for rain and then possibly snow, the weather service says.
It will be mostly sunny on Sunday with a high of around 49 degrees. Expect sunny skies for the first part of next week with temperatures in the mid-50s.
The next chance for rain is on Wednesday. It also could snow later that night, according to the weather service.
