Denver Beer Co. is revamping an old automobile dealership in Olde Town Arvada into its third brewery, with an expected opening of “early 2017.”
The company, known for brews like Graham Cracker Porter and Incredible Pedal IPA, picked the old Craig Chevrolet Dealership building at 5768 Olde Wadsworth Blvd. to expand. The location will include a brewery with seven barrels, a tap room and an outdoor patio with a similar feel of the original tap room on Platte Street in Denver, said co-founder Patrick Crawford said in an e-mail on Monday.
“We love the vibe of Olde Town Arvada,” Crawford said. “There is a very strong sense of community and such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere on Olde Wadsworth. Denver Beer Co. is centered around the belief that a brewery should be a communal gathering place for friends, new and old, to enjoy good conversation over a pint and for this reason, we think Olde Town is a great fit for our next location.”
The 4,350 square foot space will include an additional 1,500 square foot outdoor patio. The Arvada location is about one-third larger than the company’s Platte Street Taproom. But the main production facility, Canworks in Denver, is the largest, at 11,000 square feet.
Crawford said Denver Beer Co., which employs 36 full-time and part-time workers, expects the Arvada location to need about eight workers.
Genslar Architects is the project architect and Spectrum General Contractors will handle construction.
