CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Wyoming man who pleaded guilty in November to manslaughter in the death of a baby boy will serve between 18 and 20 years in prison.
Logan Rogers, who refused to tell authorities where he left the boy’s body, was sentenced in a Cheyenne court Friday. He faced a maximum of 20 years under his plea deal.
The family of 13-month-old Silas Ojeda, whom Rogers is accused of killing, asked the judge for the maximum sentence.
Investigators discovered the boy was dumped in a trash bin at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne which was then emptied in the Ault-area landfill. Investigators then searched through more than 3 million pounds of garbage in an Ault-area landfill for signs of the boy.The boy’s body has not been found.
