One person was killed and a driver taken to a hospital in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in southwestern Douglas County.

The driver, a 31-year-old man, is suspected of DUI, said Trooper Josh Lewis, State Patrol spokesman.

The State Patrol was called at 2:44 p.m. about the crash on Colorado 67 just north of the Douglas County line. A 2012 Lexus SUV was driven off of the road and dropped about 100 feet down an embankment, Lewis said.

The driver was taken to Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs. Further details on his injuries were not immediately available. He was not identified.

The victim who died in the crash was not identified. They were the only two in the vehicle.
