More than 32 hours after they were asked to leave, residents in four of the five evacuated apartment buildings near James Eagan Holmes’ building were allowed to go home Saturday evening.

All evacuated  residents, except those at 1690 Paris St., were given permission to return home, minutes after Aurora police tweeted “All hazards have been removed from the Paris Street location” at 5:48 p.m.

The only street that remains closed at the scene is the 1600 block of Paris Street.

Bomb squad members detonated a small explosive inside the apartment Saturday morning, disarming a trip wire. They then removed 30 improved explosive devices and other materials.

A dump truck also packed with sand took the bombs and material to field east of Aurora and burned them in diesel fuel.
