Interview with David Lin, chairman

Q: How did you get involved in this business?

A: I was 21 and I found out that an assistant brewer position at the local brewpub in town was open. I applied for the job and they asked me to do a month-long, unpaid internship. I ended up loving it and was hired on from there. I worked for a few more breweries over the years, but decided it was time to finally open my own. This is my fourth (and hopefully final) time going back into the craft beer industry.

Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?

A: Between the brewmaster and myself, we have nearly two decades of professional brewing experience. Our brew house, fermentors and servings are 100-percent designed and made in the USA. All our future expansions will be with equipment made in the USA.

Q: What do you like best about your line of work?

A: I love the camaraderie in the craft brewing industry. From my experience, everyone who is in the craft beer industry is there by choice. It’s very refreshing and invigorating to be surrounded by passionate people all the time.

Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?

A: It’s becoming a crowded market with a lot of competition. I think the last number count of breweries in Colorado was 232 and 70 more that are planning to open. Trying to keep up the engagement and keep people interested in our rotating offerings.

Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:

A: A lot of people are surprised about how much seating we have, as well as the size of the space, yet still keep the cozy feel.
