The weather in northeastern Colorado is poised to gradually dry out and warm up through the weekend.
Although a chance of showers and thunderstorms remained Thursday in the mountains, foothills and along the Palmer Divide, along the Front Range the chance of wet weather is slim and the Eastern Plains is expected to dry out, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures in northeastern Colorado remained below seasonal norms Thursday, but warmer than on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, Denver saw a record-low high temperature for the date. The high topped out at 62 degrees. Previously, the lowest high temperature for July 30 had been 64 degrees.

The high temperature in Denver on Thursday was 77 degrees, the weather service said.
Through the weekend, afternoon showers and thunderstorms should continue in the mountains, with the possibility of heavy rains at times. The Eastern Plains, however, should remain dry.
On Friday in Denver there’s a 20 percent chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms and the high should top out at 80 degrees.
Saturday in Denver there’s a 10 percent chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. The high temperature should hit 82 degrees.
Sunday in the city skies will be mostly sunny and the high temperature will be near 84 degrees.
