From the parking lot, Brewery Bar III looks nothing like a neighborhood hangout. For one thing, you can’t really see anything that looks like a neighborhood from the parking lot.

But from the dining room, Brewery Bar III feels like the kind of quirky, friendly bar/restaurant that Colorado is built on, populated by quirky, friendly people bent on having a relaxing time over a simple meal and a cold drink or two.

Some nights, there is live music in the corner, the kind of non-invasive, pleasantly volumed music that won’t interfere with your conversation, or your watching of whatever the night’s game may be. (There are about 20 televisions in the place for that very purpose.)

Every night, there is the same simple, Colorado-Mex menu that made sister restaurant Brewery Bar II (at 150 Kalamath St. in central Denver) a local favorite in that neighborhood: Crispy chile rellenos, Mexican hamburgers, lots of combo plates. And refreshing, deceptively potent margaritas.
