Denver Nuggets big man Mason Plumlee underwent successful surgery in Philadelphia on Thursday to repair a core muscle injury that he played through for a large chunk of the season, the team announced.

Plumlee is expected to return to basketball-related activities this summer and to be fully healthy when the Nuggets begin training camp in late September.

Plumlee averaged 7.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game in his first full season with Denver. He was the Nuggets’ primary backup center and a spot starter when injuries hit the frontcourt.
