First stop: Colorado Springs. Second stop: Park Meadows. Third stop: Fort Collins?
California-based — and cult-followed — In-N-Out Burger this week submitted concept plans to build a drive-thru restaurant in Fort Collins. The third proposed In-N-Out for the state would sling burgers from 1700 S. College Ave., near Colorado State University and just south of Fort Collins’ Old Town.
The Coloradoan was first to report the news on Friday.
In-N-Out’s proposal, which doesn’t currently include a timeline, includes razing an existing structure to build a 3,800-square-foot drive-thru restaurant with outdoor seating and 54 parking spaces. The location sits one block south of Prospect Road, in a less pedestrian neighborhood that still includes local bars and restaurants.
The fast-food chain will open its first Colorado In-N-Out next year in Colorado Springs, along with offices and a regional distribution center that could support up to 50 locations across the state.
In August, The Denver Post reported that another In-N-Out site plan had been submitted to the city of Lone Tree for development in the Park Meadows mall area.
