AIR FORCE ACADEMY — The Colorado men’s basketball team didn’t instill any confidence regarding the turnover issues that once again are plaguing the Buffaloes, and an injury scare to sophomore forward Tyler Bey will be the team’s most pressing concern when it begins a four-game homestand next week.

But the Buffs nonetheless took a step in the right direction in overcoming their road woes, and they looked good while doing it Saturday against Air Force. After blitzing the Falcons immediately after halftime, CU cruised to a 93-56 win at Clune Arena.

The Buffs had been 1-11 in true road games since the beginning of last season.

Bey left the game at the 12 minute, 45 second mark of the first half with a right shoulder injury after getting undercut on an errant finish of an alley-oop attempt. Bey, who did not return, had been playing with bandages bracing his right shoulder, and afterward head coach Tad Boyle indicated it was a previous injury that was aggravated.

“I don’t think it’s anything serious. He didn’t separate it or anything, but he sprained the AC joint,” Boyle said. “We’ll see how it responds to treatment and how long he’ll be out. Hopefully not long. Hopefully we have him for Wednesday against Portland. I asked him after the game how he was feeling and he seemed pretty positive. But you never know until the next day.”
