Rachel Brody didn’t want to strike. She’s a kindergarten teacher who loves her job. She was worried about the effect of the strike on her kids. But she did strike. So did at least 2,600 fellow educators across the Denver Public Schools system.
They left their classrooms to demand better pay and a clearer pay system. They chanted and picketed outside their schools and rallied at the Capitol in Denver. It was the city’s first public school strike in 25 years. Rachel Brody shared what it was like to experience the strike.
